Q: Do you have Insurance covering the existing home/dwelling during the “ construction period “?

A: It is always best to discuss this with your Insurer as Policy coverage will differ from Insurer to Insurer. McMahon Builders have several Policies in place, and therefore offer significant and sufficient cover ranging from Home Owner Warranty Insurance, Public Liability, Contractors all Risk Insurance.

 


 

Q: Can We live in the existing home throughout the “construction period “?

A: In most cases the answer is Yes. As each Extension/Renovation is different with no 2 projects the same, the team at McMahon Builders will visit the site to complete various inspections, hazard checks etc. This will determine wether in fact our clients will be required to “ move out “ at any stage throughout the period of Construction.

 


 

Q: Can you arrange Plans, Permits, Insurance?

A: Yes. McMahon can arrange all required Plans, Permits, Engineering and Insurance Policies for your project. We work closely with the Draftsman of either our choice or yours throughout the design process, informing you and offering suggestions to either save you money or in turn enhance the finished product. We also use local Building Surveyors, preparing all required Permit applications and can submit on your behalf. We also deal with the Local Council regarding Planning Permits.  

 


 

Q: Can We make changes after commencments of works has started?

A: Yes, changes can be made so long as the proposed change is not “structual changes “. With the majority of selections being made prior to the “ commencement of works “ items such as Tiles, carpets, colours, door furniture, doors, Joinery can all be made throughout the construction period?

 


 

Q: Can We meet with you at any stage?

A: Yes. We make ourselves flexible with our time and in most cases are only a phone call away. We can arrange a suitable time to both meet and discuss any items “ on site “ throughout the construction period.
